TechnaPulse manufactures
equipment for all your forming needs using a revolutionary process
called Technaforming.

Technaforming uses the interaction of magnetic
fields to compress or expand a tubular conductive object to
either shape or assemble parts. The end result is a permanent
mechanical joint with benefical residual compressive stresses
and close conformity of tube to fitting.
A customer
prototype (shown in the photo) is an example of Technaforming.
Aluminum tubing is formed over the plastic ends, which have
upper, and lower connections specifically designed using
proprietary design tools. The mechanical joint is created
between the tube and the grooved part with the tube closely
conforming to the groove pattern without "spring back" of the
material.
|
 | Compared to
joints using welding, crimping or mechanical fasteners, the
Technaform assembly is vastly superior:
- In static
and fatigue strength
- Costs
less
- Lighter in
weight
The Technaform process has
also been used to form square or rectangular joints as shown
in the photograph. In addition to assembly and forming, the
Technaform process can be used for flaring, blanking, beading,
and shearing of tubular components.

Technaform Process
Unique Characteristics:
- Conductive material can be
formed over most materials- metallics (aluminum, steel, etc.),
plastic or rubber
- A variety of shapes can be
formed.
- Tubes can be pre-finished
(paint, alodine, anodize) prior to assembly.
- Inner fittings can be plated
or coated prior to assembly.
- No special machining or
cleaning of tube or fitting is required to achieve a successful
joint
- Thicknesses up to 0.158"
have been successfully assembled
- Process is
instantaneous
- There is no heat inherent in
the process to degrade materials
- There is no spring back
(closer tolerances can be achieved)
- Weight is lower in most
cases
- Technaforming/EMF is
repeatable and reliable insuring uniform high quality
results.
Applications for
Technaforming:
- Medical (wheelchairs,
walkers, canes, etc.)
- Automotive (side impact
beams, crash boxes, etc.)
- Aerospace (flight control
rods and torque tubes)
- Recreational
- Air conditioning (valve
components)
